ADD and ADHD in the public eye
Many negative view of ADD and ADHD
Of many sites on the internet about ADHD and ADD, I find that they focus too much on the negative aspects of ADD and ADHD. They always talk in terms of disorder and dysfunction and how we have to learn to deal with it.
Many people take this data and information about ADHD and ADD as convincing truth. They assume without question that ADHD and ADD is a biological disorder and want to get a diagnosis so they can be helped in the form of medication.
Why? Because it is becoming increasingly difficult for us AD(H)D'ers to keep up in our raging, busy, full of stimuli and stressed society. We want to find all the information about what ADD and ADHD is, what symptoms it involves and what treatments there are and what medication can be found for it etc. etc. etc. etc.
But is that a solution? I don't think so, it is pandering to the majority and again we keep adapting. This while adapting in many cases leads to disease and secondary disorders in addition to your ADD or ADHD!
In this way, you are laying down unnecessarily deep beliefs in your subconscious that there is something wrong with you. Beliefs that will only make things difficult for you in your life to come.
This while ADD and ADHD, in my opinion, based partly on a lot of innovative information and scientific research, is not a biological disorder at all but a genetically intended different control of the brain. When you think about it, surely it is also almost impossible that such a large group of the population (5% and probably more) carries this label. That amounts to almost 1,000,000 people in the NL. If you then also consider how many celebrities with ADD and ADHD like movie stars, rock stars, inventors, athletes, artists, leaders, dancers, etc. are there. Doesn't that ring a bell with you?
Now look at the positive side of ADD and ADHD because there are so many of them. Creative, intelligent, humour, energetic, good intuition, highly developed emotional life etc. Stop shouting that you have a condition because then you are really selling yourself short. You are pushing yourself away, you have come to believe that there is something wrong with you and that you have to learn to live with that.
